Pure and natural essential oils can have a variety of everyday uses, many of which you may have never heard of.
Because of their purity, their everyday use allows you to avoid using products that contain chemicals and other contaminants that can have a damaging effect on your skin and general well-being.
Here are just 10 .. but there are so many more!
Fresh breath – add one drop of Peppermint Oil under your tongue for instant fresh breath! Its a super quick way of freshening your breath at any time of the day. And it lets you and your children avoid sugar-filled mints and chewing gums.
Shaving – add a drop of either Lavender or Sandalwood Oil to your shaving foam to give a fresh, smooth feeling during the shave and to leave an attractive scent. These oils possess antibacterial properties as well as anti-inflammatory and antiseptic ones. Lavender oil helps in healing wounds, soothing skin irritations and replenishing skin cells.
Headaches – rub Peppermint Oil on your temples and neck to add soothing relief from the pain of headaches. Peppermint Oil has a cooling effect and the ability to stimulate blood flow in the forehead when applied topically.
Pimples – rub a drop of Melaleuca on a pimple, leave it overnight and the pimple should be dramatically reduced! Works naturally due to Melaleuca’s powerful antimicrobial and antifungal properties.
Cooking fish – diffuse Lemon Oil as you are cooking to eliminate the fishy smell which will normally linger for hours.
Bed-wetting – rub a few drops of Cyprus Oil on your kid’s lower abdomen before going to bed. Should be mixed with carrier oil such as fractioned coconut oil, to ensure proper absorption. Try for one week and see if it gives the desired result.
Smoothies – add a drop of either Lemon, Wild Orange or Lime Oil to your smoothie for a strong and delicious flavour. Easy! Given that oils can be powerful, one drop should be enough.
Dandruff – add a drop of Melaleuca to your shampoo to reduce dandruff. Melaleuca contains powerful antiseptic, antibacterial properties that kills bacteria and germs that accumulate on the scalp and cause dandruff. It also provides a soothing and cooling sensation when applied to an itchy scalp caused by dandruff.
Smelly shoes – add a drop of Lemon, Grapefruit or Lemon Oil to your shoes to give a fresh scent and remove bad smells. A range of different oils can be used to remove the odour in your shoes!
Pest repellent – pests hate Peppermint Oil, so you could either spray Peppermint where pests can form or enter your home, or alternatively diffuse it. It smells great for humans too and means that normal pest repellents that smell really bad can be avoided.
